My Companion's Family got Baptized
I'm going to see if I can write this email now but it was a pretty solid Two weeks we didn't really have pday but I'll be having another one on Monday so thats cool. A lot of crazy stuff happened first I want to say felicidades to Jennifer who was able to be baptized in my home ward and has been such a good friend of my mom. Baptism really is the start to a life full of the joy of the love of Christ as we live his doctrine and share it with others. So we have been teaching the family of my companion through zoom, he has been teaching them with his old comps for a few months now and por fin we got to have the amazing experience to watch his parents and his grandpa be baptized! I've probably have never felt the spirit stronger through a zoom call before. My comp got to bear his testimony and he shared his love for the eternal families.
Had a conversation with one of my friends this week in the mission he's a beast missionary and we talked a ton but something we talked about was the thought of, what if? What if we changed? What if we believed? Even if we don't right now. That question made us both think, and made me Think about how much more can I change. What can I do to help become a better person for my family. Life is a big what if, full of questions. But there is one fact that I know changes the story, Christ lived, he died and he lives again and because of him we will too. The rest is up to us.
Ran up another exchange with my cousins area. He's opening an area with no apartment and no church and about 5 members, he is killing it. We got to put Monica on date during the exchange, so they are preparing her for baptism now.
Was walking into church and this girl said hi (but was actually speaking in english) and said that Sister Cannon is her great aunt. I feel like the Cannons just know everyone
Adding to that a girl passed out in the middle of sacrament meeting, that was a new one in the mission. they took her to the hospital, hope she is doing good.
We ran up the peruano place for the millionth time and got more chaufa
We went to Madrid for the last leadership conference with president and hermana Hamilton. Crazy to see them leave soon. But luckily they are moving to provo after the mission so we will get to see each other a lot.
Had a guy call us and said he wanted to marry my companion. My companion is on the fence about it.
Ran up soccer and Costco with Alcalá again. The gifts of having someone in the zone with a Costco card.
So heard a thought this week, the thought that baptism is the only way someone can access the power of God's atonement. Ya that pushes me just a lil bit more to share my love of the gospel with others
Karen, Andrea and Ezekiel came to visit me here in Sevilla! They are crazy but i love them just the same. We pulled up to Burger King too wish we had more time but we had to head to a members house.
Paco showed me how to eat snails!! They are actually gas here. but when Paco started to eat it you can tell he was excited cause he slurped them down fast.
Just keep going enjoying the ride.

Thank you so much for the shout out! Baptism was a complete reflection of my LDS studies & journey towards Christ since 2022 when you and the elders showed up during family crisis. I know The Holy Ghost directed you all to me & saved my heart.
ReplyDeleteAmazing work Elder Larkins!!!
