Milagritos
I asked my friend from Morrocos who just had his second child be born, if he could give me any life advice, he asked me if I still had my mom, I said "yes" he then told me “take care of your mom. Because they are the best” I agree.
This one will be long, just so yall know.
Welp a lot happened. Even though our ward mission leader, Aaron, tried bribing our president to let me stay in Jerez, my time here is over. I love this area and especially these members. They have become my family and it will be so hard to say bye to them, but waiting for the call from president I was praying that if I had to go that president would send a strong missionary to help elder tanner and this ward to keep growing. Then little do you know they send elder Schaack!! I don't really know if that's a good thing yet… "na es broma" I know him and elder tanner are going to kill it here. As for me I'm headed to Sevilla, that place is beautiful so I'm pretty excited. I'm going to be with Elder Means and I can't wait to see what we can do there.
Reading the entire book of mormon in 2 days! That was fun, and definitely has already brought a ton of miracles. Basically for two days we did nothing but read. It's amazing to see how the words seem to change everything I read.
Milagritos- So we have two of our friends named Emily and Scarlet and they had their baptismal date set for Saturday. We were all super excited to have it finally after months of fighting for it. As we began to read the Book of Mormon about 3 hours in I get a text and look at it and it's from their mom saying that Emily was saying she was not wanting to do the baptism anymore and that they were calling it off. Texted back really quick but she was not trying to talk about it or change anyone's mind. At that moment I had no idea what to do cause I knew if I told my comp then he would have to continue reading for 2 days more straight knowing that our baptism wasn't going to happen. (And as amazing that reading was spiritually, physically it was pretty hard) I said a prayer and decided to keep reading the next verse was Mosiah 24:14. As I read it the spirit hit me so strong I knew that everything would work out. I talked to my comp about what had happened and we called our bishop. After that we were able to read and finish the two day challenge. Fast forward to Friday, we stop by and nobody was home, so we leave them a gift and then Saturday morning we receive the call from president telling us that I would be leaving. And right as he hung up we headed straight to the twins house. When we got there Emily was sitting next to a cat, i asked what its name was apparently it was one of the neighborhood cats and it was named Milagritos. After that we bore our testimonies asked them if they wanted to do the baptism that same day with us. They said yes! so we walked over to the church right then filled up the fonts and the two got baptized. So happy for their family.
Then ended off the week with one of our members from Mexico surprising me and making us my favorite food in the world, enchiladas for my last dinner there. I might have cried a little in that moment, man I miss Mexican food. I'm going to miss Jerez so much this place has really become another home for me and like a family for me here in Spain. Don't know how I will say bye to them but its okay God has a plan. Even if that plan makes Aaron and I cry.
Love Yall!
