Happy New Year!!!
And a happy new year! Sorry don't have much time but this week had a ton of fun. The new years here might be my favorite. We got to go to Pancho and Saras apartment and eat dinner with them. Pancho made ribs and potatoes, i loved him so much for that. Sara told me that the meal was actually the first meal he ever cooked for her and how she thought his mom was going to do it so she was disappointed when he said he was going to do it(i mean a mother from ecuador what better food is there than that(other than obviously my moms food love you mom)), but then he walks around the corner with racks of ribs. I mean ya if someone walked up to me with perfectly cooked ribs i would probably marry them too. And they were amazing. It was super fun though we talked a ton about missions stories. And then got home and had a call with some of the zone to count down the new years. Well i thought Sara was kidding me when she said that everyone went out after 12. Because before that it had been a ghost town all day couldn't see a single soul, but once it hit 12 fireworks were going off everywhere and everyone sprinted towards the center of town which is right where we live to start the city party. And that party and the fireworks didn't stop until 6:30 in the morning. I was pretty amazed waking up at 3 looking out my window and seeing the street full of cars, people, a guy even walking his dogs. But then heading out at about 9 the next morning you literally couldn't find a single person. We counted 4 cars on the streets and 0 people. But we also did not count the groups that were still drunk and dancing cause that doesn't really count cause they didn't even go to bed. But for real fun night especially cause our apartment was shooting off their own fireworks off the roof and the ones next to us. Welp that ended up longer than I expected.
The new year brings new beginnings no matter where you are or what you have done in the past, all that matters is you start now. It's a new chance take it. And if it doesn't work out, who cares go for it again. It is better to be as a Child and learn and grow from our mistakes than to hold ourselves at a stand still because we don't know if the next step is the right one.
Love y'all~Elder Larkins
