Life is meant to have Joy

Hey yall,

Things that happened this week:

  • Got to see all old friends from fuengirola and málaga
  • Elias, Marcos, and Santi are all going on their missions soon!!
  • We had mission conference and I got to see brock (elder Nielson)
  • And of course i got to see Elder Knight !! Gotta love having your cousin in the same mission, he is over there killing it in Madrid right now
  • Got to smoke Chloe, Hugo, y Cindy in boardgames. (Cindy almost shattered the tv she is a little over aggressive when it comes to these games)

I love Jesus Christ. I hope every single person knows they're loved and that this life is meant to have joy. I have been told before that this mission is a pretty easy one and I'll be honest it couldn’t be easier. I love every dang second. God has blessed me more than I could've ever asked for. So many times people think too much of the worldly stuff and it's crazy to see how much it tears them down. I know, I have let myself do it before, but never noticed it as much as now during this mission. I got to get the chance to talk to one of my friends on the mission who called me and told me she was going to end her life. She had some things pass recently in her life with money, friends, and job and she couldn't see the end of the sadness. Sounds all too familiar and it's insane how many times I have had this call on my mission. I told her to shut up (in the kindest way possible) and just to stop looking for all the answers in the world. Life happens and it sucks. But it is only the things of the world that are what will truly let you down. We talked about how the love of Christ for her is enough to want to live. And i got to share a quote by Elder Holland, "In a world that so desperately needs all the light it can get, please do not minimize the eternal light God put in your soul before this world was.'' Every single person has a light in them little or big as it might be right now God needs every single spec of light that you have. We got to tell her how much we loved her, and she is doing a lot better now. But I wanted to share this story. I really don't know why, I don't usually like to share this kind of stuff but I got the feeling I should today so I hope it can help one of you. And if it is you, just know I love you, i know that might not mean much, but God and Christ love you even more and that means everything.

Today I opened my scriptures to 1 Nephi 17:8 I think I already shared this one but it hit me stronger than it ever has been before.. God will guide us where we need to be. Its true life doesn't always go the way you want it to, but that is only because we can't truly comprehend the happiness God wants us to have. This life is a gift, we have to let God show us that gift. No matter how much it might hurt sometimes. Have faith, push on, never give up, and enjoy the heck out of life centered on Christ because this is way too much fun.

Miss everyone! even you Willard
Love yall !!
