Week 1

Larkins & Jensen

Week 1. So technically this is week three because of online MTC but that doesn't really matter. But this first week has truly been life-changing. I just want to say if anyone is thinking of serving a mission they should do it. I've seen so many miracles in my life already come out of this week. I'm so lucky to be here. Cant really complain about anything. I really have the best district and companion.

But here's just a couple things of week one:

Things I forgot at home:

  • Toothbrush
  • Phone charger
  • Another charger
  • Pens

Miracle:

One of the miracles I got to see this week was the devotional this last night. Elder Matthew Holland spoke, however he wasn't supposed to be the one speaking. Elder Jeffrey R Holland was suppose to speak. But he got sick this last week so he wasn't able to so his son stepped in. Elder Matthew Holland then explained how in life there is good news and bad news. The bad news was that he would not be speaking, but the good news was that for the first time in his life he decided to write out his talk. Which meant his son was able to read it to us. It was really powerful and you could seriously hear his voice in the talk. I know miracles happen everyday we just have to sit with the Lord long enough to be able to see them.

Scripture:

The classic 1 Nephi 3:7

You can find new meaning in a scripture you have read a million times. Even in one we think we know all about in and out. But this scripture in this case has really been the motto of the mission. No matter what happens in life if God puts struggles in your life. He puts them there because he knows it will help you to grow and he knows you can overcome them. Life sucks sometimes I won't lie but if we look at it from God's bird eye view we can begin to see his eternal plan a little more. Thank him for the good times but even more importantly thank him for the hard times because they give us the opportunity to strengthen our faith and ourselves.

Miss everyone so much! Love y'all!
